The South Australia-based firm has secured a contract to deliver electronic soloutions to a foreign government.

REDARC Electronics has signed a multimillion-dollar contract to deliver on board power management and control systems to Singapore.

According to the firm, the contract was supported by its receipt of $150,000 in funding from the Commonwealth government under the Defence Global Competitiveness Grant.

The grant was awarded to fund the development of coating printed circuit boards, providing added protection for commercial military vehicles.

“The commitment of the Australian government to support Australian companies establish competitive offerings for export has proven to be a winner, our products are world class and have a reputation for being the best, now with our capability improvements thanks to the grant we have been able to develop and deliver a competitive solution into new customer markets,” Anthony Kittel, owner and managing director of REDARC, said.

Mike Hartas, general manager sales, REDARC Defence Systems, said the grant enhanced the company’s offering, making it more attractive to foreign customers.

“This long-term contract allows us to grow some new positions in the team and will contribute to the development of new defence focused products into the future,” he said.

“As an Australian owned company, winning this contract isn’t just about REDARC but continues to support a number of our local suppliers over the coming years.”

REDARC Electronics, established in 1979, supplies patented electronic solutions to global markets including automotive, mining, defence and emergency services.

The firm’s defence subsidiary, REDARC Defence Systems (established in mid-2019), provides advanced power sensing and management solutions to customers globally.

Last year, REDARC Defence Systems secured a supply contract for Norwegian defence giant Kongsberg.

Kongsberg announced that REDARC – which previously produced automotive parts – will make and supply power outlet panels, battery boxes and power distribution units in support of the National Advanced Surface to Air Missile System (NASAMS) for the Australian Army.

The firm has also been awarded a multiyear, multimillion-dollar contract to deliver Multi Aspect Threat Emulation System to Army, working collaboratively with Queensland-based GaardTech Targets.
