The Grand Challenges program is one of the largest initiatives under the Next Generation Technologies Fund, managed by the Defence Science and Technology (DST) Group. Defence wants to work with the Australian innovation community to address tough Defence problems which can only be solved through innovative approaches requiring cross-disciplinary research across institutional and national boundaries.
The Counter Improvised Threats Grand Challenge seeks to harness science, technology and innovation capability across Australia to develop technology solutions that enable stand-off detection and neutralisation of improvised threats without casualties.
The information session will consist of some brief presentations and an extended Q&A session. You will also have the opportunity to interact directly with the Grand Challenges program directors over afternoon tea.
