Athena’s geo software will be deployed on an edge device to demonstrate AI route planning capabilities for unmanned ground vehicle (UGV).
Stephen Bornstein, co-founder and CEO of Athena AI, explained the importance of this trial of the geospatial software and its support of the ATAK plug-in, saying, “Marine Corps Warfighting Lab is pushing the limits of human machine teaming with robotics and AI to enhance the warfighter. We are excited to showcase how Athena Geo supports pre-mission and post H-Hour decision making for the commander utilising our existing products like vision.”
This assessment will review how Athena’s Geo at the edge can support tactical route planning for robotic platforms, like UGVs and UAS, when operating in contested environments.
Athena’s geospatial software runs on an edge device to enable end users to perform mission planning and autonomy with AI-enabled terrain analysis, optimal path planning, line of sight, weapons and comms range assessments and static placement optimisation.
Adrian Dudok, co-founder and director of Athena AI, added, “Athena continues to expand its tactical AI capabilities with our added Geo AI route planning. This new geo capability compliments our computer vision software which continues to gain momentum within the US DOD. MCWL is a forward leaning and existing customer of Athena’s who are already a user of Athena’s Vision software to enable AI target recognition with Tomahawk Robotics RAID plate program.”
Athena Geo services has an optional tactical assault kit (TAK) plug-in to deliver ease of use and integration for customers like MCWL as well as access to the TAK server for battle tracking services.
Athena Artificial Intelligence is a defence-focused AI technology that has proven itself to deliver trusted artificial intelligence decision support at the tactical edge. Athena AI is devoted to providing defence and security customers cutting-edge AI capabilities with its target recognition computer vision and geospatial route planning software.
