Personnel from RAAF 32 and 35 Squadrons were on hand in the Pacific region, flying C-27J Spartan and KA-350 King Air fixed-wing aircraft in support of regional partners in the area.
Based in Honiara, the team contributed aircraft to regional maritime surveillance missions over the exclusive economic zones of Federated States of Micronesia and Palau.
ADF assets assigned to Solonia provide intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance support to Pacific island nations and their operations, which in turn supports the economic development of these countries through the protection of fisheries and other resources.
The operation is co-ordinated by the Quadrilateral Defence Coordinating Group, with other member nations New Zealand, France and the US.
