2019 for the Royal Australian Air Force was largely dominated by the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter aircraft, with the continued rollout of the fifth-generation fighter to the Australian Defence Force.
As a fifth-generation aircraft, the F-35 is a blend of all-aspect stealth even when armed, low-probability-of-intercept radar, high-performance airframes, advanced avionics and highly-integrated computer systems bringing a gods-eye view of the battlespace.
However, there were many other notable events that took place up in the Australian skies, or elsewhere in the world under the RAAF banner.
