Nova Systems has announced a partnership with the European aerospace giant, which will see the businesses collaborate on equipment acquisition, support programs, personnel secondment and provision. Sydney-based Nova is a major provider of engineering and consultancy services to Australian defence, aerospace and government bodies.

According to Nova, the agreement calls for the companies to work together in order to "identify future collaborative business opportunities, improve their capabilities through the complementary application of skills, and deliver competitive solutions in the Australian aerospace sector."
Airbus Australia Pacific managing director, Andrew Mathewson, praised the deal.
"Airbus’ charter with Nova Systems sets the framework for a long-term collaborative relationship that will deliver real results for Australia’s defence industry capabilities, local jobs and technology upskilling," he said.
“Airbus welcomes the opportunity to work closely with innovative enterprises such as Nova Systems to ensure that we continue to deliver the best solutions to our customers.”
Defence Connect sister publication Australian Aviation reported on Wednesday that Airbus Helicopters maintains a strong foothold in the national market, producing the MRH90 Taipan and the ARH Tiger.
The 170 separate projects for the pair are worth $300 million and involve partners such as Cablex, Ferra, Safran, Partech Systems and Thales.
Nova Group chief executive Greg Hume said, “This partnership between Nova Systems ANZ and Airbus is a great example of a collaborative relationship providing sovereign services in support of the Australian government’s strategic and national interests.”
