Throughout the engagement, Nova Systems is expected to use their previous experience under the AIR 5428 Phase 1 program to support the consortium.
“We are honoured to have Nova Systems as part of Team AUStringer because they bring a wealth of experience supporting the delivery of complex Defence programs,” Matthew Sibree, managing director, Indo-Pacific at CAE Australia, said.
“We are well aware of their solid reputation, particularly in East Sale, as a result of their successful participation in the RAAF’s new pilot training program.
"With both Cobham and Nova Systems now part of Team AUStringer, we are demonstrating our commitment to developing a sovereign Aviation Mission Training System that builds Australia’s industry capability.”
According to Nova Systems, it is expected that the Aviation Mission Training System (AMTS) developed as part of the program will support the training and development of Royal Australian Air Force aviators including electronic warfare officers, maritime patrol and response officers, air battle managers, air traffic controllers as well as other specialists.
The AMTS is scheduled to be located at the Air Academy, RAAF Base East Sale, providing a digitally integrated learning environment as well as ground and airborne training solutions.
Adam Smith, managing director, Nova Systems ANZ, welcomed the opportunity to partner with Team AUStringer to develop sovereign training capabilities.
“As a 100 per cent Australian-owned and controlled engineering services and technology solutions company, Nova Systems has partnered with the Royal Australian Air Force for more than two decades,” Smith said.
“We are a business that fits into the real sovereign category, and we are excited to be part of Team AUStringer with CAE and Cobham to deliver a comprehensive and immersive next-generation Air Mission Training System that sets Australia’s future mission aviators up for success.”
Under the partnership, CAE is expected to leverage its global expertise having delivered training packages to the US Navy, US Air Force, Royal Air Force, Royal Navy and the Royal Canadian Air Force.
Currently, the company helps deliver training solutions to aviators in the RAAF for the C-130J, KC-30A, AP-3C and Hawk Mk127.
