Since the inaugural event in 2020, the Defence Connect Budget Summit has brought together key policymakers, decision makers and defence industry professionals to assess the impact of the federal budget on Australia’s defence and national security.
A year on from the launch of the government’s release of the Defence Strategic Review and following the recent release of the Independent Analysis into Navy's Surface Combatant Fleet, our 2024 event offered attendees the opportunity to engage directly with the decision makers and thought leaders charged with delivering the government’s transformational defence programs and shaping our national security.
Hosted by veteran journalist and political commentator David Speers, attendees heard from Defence Industry Minister Pat Conroy in person as he outlined the government's plan for enhancing lethality in the Australian Defence Force, the opposition's response from Shadow Minister for Defence Andrew Hastie, as well as other leading national security thought leaders.
