Queensland industry is invited to a briefing to assist businesses participate in a new era in Australia’s naval shipbuilding industry. International shipbuilder Luerssen, its partners ASC and Forgacs/Civmec and major subcontractors L3 Australia, Penske and SAAB Australia will outline the business opportunities for Australian industry resulting from the unique Luerssen approach to the SEA 1180 offshore petrol vessel (OPV) construction program. Based on its extensive experience in life cycle support of naval vessels Luerssen will also address the specific longer-term opportunities for local businesses. Luerssen is now preparing to build its Australian industry team. Luerssen is looking to form long term partnerships to build Australia’s OPVs and for further projects. The briefing will be held in Cairns from 9:00am – 11:30am on Wednesday 19 July 2017. The venue for the briefing is the Golden Palm Room, Rydges Esplanade Resort (next to the Cairns Hospital), 209-217 Abbott Street, Cairns.
