Minister Conroy will participate in the ADMM-Plus plenary and meet with ASEAN and regional partners.
The ADMM-Plus is the region’s premier defence dialogue, bringing together the 10 ASEAN nations, ASEAN’s eight dialogue partners and Timor-Leste.
“I am honoured to represent Australia at the ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting Plus,” according to Minister for Defence Industry and Capability Delivery, Pat Conroy.
“This year marks the 50th anniversary of ASEAN-Australia Dialogue Relations, underscoring the importance Australia places on its relationship with ASEAN nations.
“I look forward to engaging with defence ministers from across the region about our shared commitment to a peaceful, stable and prosperous Indo-Pacific.”
This year marks the 50th anniversary of Australia's partnership with ASEAN, with Minister Conroy set to co-host a commemorative ceremony to mark the milestone.
As ASEAN’s first dialogue partner, Australia remains committed to working with ASEAN to maintain peace, stability and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region, with ASEAN at its centre.
