The free web-based system enables businesses to assess their readiness, featuring a series of questions that evaluate the business across four criteria.
The criteria include market understanding, delivery confidence, strategic outlook, and product development.
The questions enable participants to take part in a facilitated and tailored journey to develop their core capabilities, with access to a library of information.
According to the Office of Defence Industry Support (ODIS), the tool seeks to demystify the Defence acquisition process by providing tailored recommendations and an action plan to enhance business capability.
The Commonwealth launched ODIS In November 2021 to foster engagement between Defence, major contractors, and local SMEs.
The organisation — which replaced the Centre for Defence Industry Capability — aims to serve as a “one-stop shop”, facilitating stakeholder access to local SMEs with the capability to support Defence projects.
ODIS aims to help smaller businesses bolster their market presence and expand their Defence footprint.
The Office of Defence Industry Support will be represented by stakeholders from the Air Force, Navy, Army, and the commercial sector.
