The US Department of Defense has announced new contract changes involving the Australian government and Royal Australian Air Force.

Under the contracts announced on 5 September, an US$8.5 million price order was detailed for Boeing to provide, deliver, and integrate 70 1990A radio retrofit kits to the US Navy, 36 1990A kits for the RAAF, 70 audio management system retrofit kits for the US Navy, and 47 audio management system retrofit kits for RAAF F/A-18 aircraft. Work will be performed in Missouri and is expected to be completed in March 2027.
The US DOD also awarded Lockheed Martin a US$49.5 million contract to provide technical, management, and process support to maintain H-60 helicopter software for the US Navy and governments of Australia, Denmark, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Greece, and Norway. Work will be performed in New York and is expected to be completed in September 2028.
A separate US$600 million US Air Force contract was also engaged with Georgia’s ELB Services for mission planning support services, continued mission planning support of mission planning systems of UNIX-Mission Planning System, portable flight planning system, joint mission planning system, and joint precision airdrop systems. Work will be performed worldwide and at Hill Air Force Base, Utah, as the main location, and is expected to be completed 4 September 2034. Foreign military sales customers include Australia and more than 25 other countries.
