QinetiQ has announced the launch of Team TECSA in response to the inclusion of Test and Evaluation, Certification and Systems Assurance (TECSA) as an SDIP in this year’s Defence Industry Development Strategy.

According to QinetiQ, the task of developing Australia’s workforce will require collaboration with organisations across the country.

Current members include Adroita, AeroPM, Ascent, Priori Analytica, Aurizn, Bastion Defence Consulting, BMT, QinetiQ, Flinders University, Omni, Shoal, Swinburne University, UNSW and ViPAC.

The global T&E provider has invited all industry and academic organisations to join Team TECSA, having invested over $100 million over the last three years in Australia to build sovereign capabilities.

It comes as the company identified a shortage of 400 qualified test and evaluation personnel in 2024, with those figures expected to grow to 1,000.

Gary Stewart, chief executive - Australia Sector at QinetiQ, welcomed the opportunity to provide leadership in developing the Australian workforce.

“We are excited to lead the formation of Team TECSA and unite the incredible talents and resources within Australian industry and academia,” Stewart said.

“As a leading member of Team TECSA, QinetiQ will continue to invest in its capabilities in Australia.”
