The portal, called Supply Queensland, has been designed to meet the specific needs of Queensland manufacturers to drive innovation, enhance local economic resilience, and position the state as a leader in sustainable and advanced manufacturing.
Supply Queensland is powered by BenchOn to leverage its AI-driven technology and algorithm matching to automatically connect manufacturers with relevant sourcing opportunities based on detailed profile information, including products, processes, and workforce capabilities.
Gold Coast-based BenchOn CEO Tim Walmsley said it was a proud moment for the veteran-owned company as it continues to grow and expand its client base beyond the defence industry.
“Our purpose at BenchOn has always been mission-focused on becoming the leaders in using AI-driven technology to solve supply chain problems and we have proven once again we are able to deliver on that promise,” Walmsley said.
“Developing the Supply Queensland portal has been a true collaboration with the team at Manufacturing Skills Queensland who have shown their commitment to industry, supporting a local, innovative product that will help manufacturing grow.”
The Supply Queensland portal is now live following its launch as part of Queensland Manufacturing Month.
The BenchOn-powered portal is free for suppliers to register and will also support the government with the identification of training skills and workforce gaps to target investment for manufacturers.
Manufacturing Skills Queensland chief executive officer Rebecca Andrews said the launch of Supply Queensland will support local talent and innovation.
“One of the key benefits offered by the Supply Queensland portal is the ability to showcase your capabilities as a manufacturer – increasing the potential to supply to major contractors, government agencies or partner with other manufacturers,” she said.
“This portal isn’t just about procurement; it’s about building resilience in our supply chains, creating jobs, and ensuring that Queensland remains at the forefront of manufacturing innovation in Australia.
“Information from the portal will also help MSQ direct investment through our annual training plan to strengthen supply chains and support training, skills and workforce development for the sector.
“Supply Queensland leverages the BenchOn platform and has been designed with manufacturers in mind. The user-friendly interface will streamline making business connections, enabling manufacturers to focus on what they do best – innovating and producing world-class goods.”
