Under the order, A3D will produce advanced experimental metal alloy components using its industrial 3D metal printing processes. These components will be manufactured utilising the company’s expertise in laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) technology.

“Securing this second order from Defence is a clear validation of our strategic focus on the defence and aerospace markets. It reflects our commitment to innovation and delivering precision-manufactured components that meet the stringent demands of these critical industries,” A3D chief executive officer Rebekah Letheby said.

“We are building a strong relationship with Defence and this latest order, which follows the initial purchase order for first phase printed products received in June 2024, confirms A3D’s growing role in supporting Australia’s sovereign defence capabilities. Our team’s deep knowledge in materials and metal printing processes ensures we are well positioned to continue expanding into these high value sectors.”

The development is considered a significant milestone in A3D’s strategic push in the defence and aerospace markets, both key growth sectors for the company.

It reinforces the strength of the company’s industrial print services and highlights the growing trust and confidence placed in A3D. The purchase order is valued at $46,094.

With the second purchase order, A3D is firmly aligning with Australia’s defence industry base and laying the groundwork for larger, more diverse projects in the future.
