Defence Connect is calling on Australia’s defence and national security professionals to submit an entry or nominate a colleague or initiative by Thursday, 13 February 2025, to be in the running for one of the coveted awards.
Back for the second year by popular demand, the Defence & National Security Workforce Awards provides a platform to celebrate the achievements of rising stars, spotlight innovative workforce programs, and showcase the top contenders for the industry’s employer of choice.
The awards program recognises young talent and impactful initiatives, from the top-performing technical, operations, and communications specialists under the age of 35 to the nation’s leading reserve support and training development programs.

There are nine individual categories, including Best Aerospace Technical Specialist, Best Logistical Operations Specialist, Best Project Manager, and Best HR Specialist, all under the age of 35.
A total of 11 group categories are on offer, including Best ESG Program, Best Veteran Support Program, Best Reservist/Volunteer Support Program, and Best Future Skills Provider.
Being honoured with a Defence & National Security Workforce award provides recipients with national recognition for their contribution to Australia’s safety and prosperity.
The awards are open to all businesses operating in Australia’s defence and national security supply chain.
The Defence & National Security Workforce Awards, in conjunction with event stakeholders Defence Connect, Momentum Media and a panel of leading professionals, have developed a robust awards methodology to form the backbone for assessing, analysing and benchmarking Australia’s leading professionals and businesses. The judging criteria for award categories are both quantitative and qualitative, acknowledging growth, business development, diversity, leadership, innovation, business excellence and contributions to Australia’s defence and national security sector.
The judging panel includes former senior ADF and military leaders, academics, business executives, entrepreneurs and innovators to ensure entrants receive peer-reviewed recognition of their capabilities in defence.
All businesses and professionals that meet eligibility criteria from across Australia’s defence and national security industry are encouraged to participate in the awards program.
Submit an entry or nominate a worthy colleague or initiative by Thursday, 13 February 2025, for your chance to be recognised for your achievements on a national stage.
