Returning for the second year, the Defence & National Security Workforce Awards shines a spotlight on the innovative workplace programs, forward-thinking companies and exceptional professionals who are shaping the future of the industry.

Supported by principal partner Atturra, this prestigious awards program features 20 submission-based categories, including both individual and group awards.

The Defence & National Security Workforce Awards celebrate emerging talent under the age of 35 across various areas of the industry, recognising exceptional technical, operations and communications specialists accelerating the defence and national security industry.

The awards program also highlights innovative initiatives dedicated to Reserve support and training development, showcasing the excellence and impact of initiatives that strengthen the sector’s capabilities.

The event will offer attendees the chance to connect with industry leaders and peers who are shaping the future of the sector.

There are nine individual and 11 group categories on offer, including the prestigious Best Wellness and Health Program.

The Best Wellness and Health Program award celebrates companies within the Australian defence and national security industries that prioritise the wellbeing of their workforce through outstanding wellness and health initiatives.

This category recognises organisations that have developed and implemented programs designed to support health and wellness of their employees, fostering a healthier and more resilient workplace.

Organisations are encouraged to submit their entries to showcase their commitment to enhancing employee wellbeing and creating a positive workplace culture.

The Defence & National Security Workforce Awards, in conjunction with event stakeholders Defence Connect, Momentum Media and a panel of leading professionals, have developed a robust awards methodology to form the backbone for assessing, analysing and benchmarking Australia’s leading professionals and businesses. The judging criteria for award categories are both quantitative and qualitative, acknowledging growth, business development, diversity, leadership, innovation, business excellence and contributions to Australia’s defence and national security sector.

The judging panel includes former senior ADF and military leaders, academics, business executives, entrepreneurs and innovators to ensure entrants receive peer-reviewed recognition of their capabilities in defence.

All businesses and professionals that meet eligibility criteria from across Australia’s defence and national security industry are encouraged to participate in the awards program.

Submit an entry or nominate a worthy program by Thursday, 13 February 2025.
