QinetiQ’s Team TECSA, a collaboration between Australian industry and academia focused on advancing Australia’s sovereign defence capabilities in Test and Evaluation, Certification and Systems Assurance (TECSA), has welcomed three new members.
The addition of BosTECK, DEWC Services, and Mercury Information Security Services enhances Team TECSA’s expertise in key areas. BosTECK brings specialist knowledge in explosive ordnance and safety assurance, DEWC Services contributes extensive experience in electronic warfare and intelligence, while Mercury Information Security Services strengthens cyber security and information assurance capabilities.
These new partnerships further bolster Team TECSA’s ability to support Defence across multiple warfare domains. Team TECSA is aligned with Defence’s push for a nationwide approach to test and evaluation (T&E). Since its launch by QinetiQ in September 2024, the initiative has expanded to include 19 industry and academic members, working collaboratively to ensure Australia’s defence readiness.
Gary Stewart, QinetiQ chief executive Australia sector, highlighted the importance of this collaboration, stating, “We recognise the wealth of capability within Australia’s defence ecosystem, and Team TECSA is harnessing that expertise to meet national defence requirements. Our approach is streamlined, scalable and focused on delivering high-quality solutions through local expertise.”
He further emphasised the increasing complexity of T&E, underscoring the need for Defence, industry and academia to work together to develop integrated solutions that provide joint force assurance and interoperability.
“Team TECSA unites the best minds in the sector to reduce fragmentation and ensure a unified, mission-ready approach,” Stewart said.
The three new members have welcomed the opportunity to contribute to Australia’s defence capabilities. DEWC Services CEO Allan Dundas expressed his company’s pride in joining Team TECSA, saying, “As a collaborative company dedicated to achieving the best outcomes for Defence, our approach strongly aligns with Team TECSA’s mission.”
Edward Farrell, Mercury Information Security Services CEO, highlighted the value of collaboration in cyber security. “Mercury has remained committed to understanding threat actors and securing mission systems and networks. Working alongside other experts presents a unique opportunity for our team to contribute to national security,” he said.
BosTECK’s managing director, Grant White, reinforced the importance of innovation in defence testing and evaluation, saying, “BosTECK is committed to integrating advanced ideas, processes, and tools alongside Team TECSA to continuously improve safety, reliability and performance standards for Defence.”
With these latest additions, Team TECSA continues to strengthen Australia’s sovereign defence industrial base, ensuring enhanced support for the Australian Defence Force’s operational effectiveness.
