Cirrus secures contract extension for Air Combat Officer Training System

Mission training systems developer Cirrus Real Time Processing Systems has announced an extension to its support services subcontract with Jet Aviation Australia for its Air Combat Officer Training System.

Mission training systems developer Cirrus Real Time Processing Systems has announced an extension to its support services subcontract with Jet Aviation Australia for its Air Combat Officer Training System.

The ACOTS training system has been in operational use since 2011 at the RAAF Air Mission Training School (AMTS) for the provision of air mission training of RAAF aviators.

Over the intervening period, including since being subcontracted to Jet Aviation Australia (formerly Hawker Pacific) in 2018, ACOTS has been continually updated by Cirrus in close collaboration with AMTS instructors to provide end to end simulation of the air mission battle-space and the operation of platform sensor, weapons, avionics and mission systems within a tactically immersive synthetic environment.

“The ACOTS System has been used successfully at AMTS since 2011 for providing training of RAAF Officer Aviation Mission Specialists, and additionally, drawing on recently introduced functionality, Airborne Electronic Analysts,“ according to Cirrus’ managing director Peter Freed.

“I am very pleased to announce that Cirrus will continue to provide a range of engineering support services to AMTS’ suite of ACOTS installations under a recent contract extension with Jet Aviation Australia.“
