Australian defence industry connector BenchOn has announced a collaboration with database management company Hellios Information to link company vetting and market canvassing.
The BenchOn, Hellios Information collaboration is expected to enhance market sourcing for defence industry primes using BenchOn and enhance opportunities for small-and-medium-sized enterprises to enter new supply chains with Joint Supply Chain Accreditation Register (JOSCAR) buyers.
Under the collaboration, defence primes using BenchOn Industry Portals can now search, source and map their supply chains by JOSCAR certifications to streamline the onboarding process.
“BenchOn’s collaboration with Hellios, through its JOSCAR system is another example of industry working in unison for the advancement of all,” according to BenchOn chief executive Tim Walmsley.
“Our AI powered industry matching platform removes the guesswork and time delays for Defence Primes who need to be focused on the job at hand.”
According to the 2022 Defence Supply Chain Report by the Australian Industry Group, inefficiencies in supplier onboarding can contribute to delays of up to 30 percent in achieving operational readiness.
This BenchOn JOSCAR collaboration provides defence primes with access to defence industry data insights to assist speedy decision making and risk mitigation of projects.
Hellios Information Australian Country Manager Tom Maund said this collaboration will reduce barriers to entry and speed up procurement processes, making it easier for everyone to do business.
“By collaborating, we'll provide Prime Contractors using BenchOn with a quick and easy way to identify qualified suppliers who have demonstrated compliance to Defence industry requirements.”
