US artificial intelligence provider BigBear.ai has announced it will deploy its AI, data and sensor orchestration platform to the next Exercise Talisman Sabre 2025 in Australia.
The company will deploy the ConductorOS system to enhance AI-enabled capabilities for AUKUS partners such as Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States forces in multi-domain missions.
The deployment is part of US participation in the Resilient Autonomy and AI Technologies trials is supported by the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering.
“BigBear.ai will once again demonstrate the ability of its AI orchestration platform, ConductorOS, to support joint international forces in a real-world environment,” said Kevin McAleenan, CEO of BigBear.ai.
“This exercise underscores our shared commitment to advance AI-driven operational readiness, interoperability, and innovation to meet the evolving challenges of modern defence.”
Exercise Talisman Sabre 2025 will be the 11th and largest iteration of the exercise, with 19 nations participating.
The event consists of live-fire and field training exercises incorporating force preparation, amphibious landings, ground force manoeuvres, air combat, and marine operations.
During the exercise, BigBear.ai’s ConductorOS is expected to help military forces act faster by updating AI models in real-time, improving coordination between sensors and shooters, and helping to ensure both air and ground units make better decisions during operations.
ConductorOS will integrate with existing US Department of Defense (DoD) Programs of Record and Australian unmanned vehicles for the ground and air to help facilitate enablement of the allied mission.
Earlier this year, BigBear.ai was announced under a US Department of Defense 3.5-year, US$13.2 million sole source contract to support the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff’s Directorate for Force Management.
BigBear.ai will deliver and maintain the DoD Joint Staff J-35’s ORION Decision Support Platform which provides automated force management capabilities and data analytics to the DoD’s Joint Planning and Execution Community.
“We are honoured to support the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff’s Office,” said McAleenan.
“Winning this contract demonstrates BigBear.ai’s ability to deliver modern, AI-powered solutions that enable data-driven decision-making at the highest levels of defence leadership. ORION DSP plays a pivotal role in optimizing force structure, and we look forward to bringing our expertise in AI, data analytics, and software development to ensure mission success.”
