KBR entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Indigenous and veteran-owned professional services provider JLB Yaran at Indo Pacific 2022 as part of KBR Australia’s Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).

During a signing ceremony at Indo Pacific 2022 attended by First Nations Elder Aunty Mary Doctor, the company announced that it would cooperate with Indigenous and veteran-owned professional services provider JLB Yaran to recruit and engage with Indigenous communities across Australia.
According to a release from KBR, it is expected that this will be achieved by integrating JLB Yaran into the KBR technical support network.
Rob Hawketts, vice president of government solutions APAC at KBR, welcomed the chance to support further engagement and opportunities with First Nations communities.
“KBR is committed to the development and empowerment of First Nations companies, particularly in the Australian defence industry. I am proud to have signed this memorandum of understanding with JLB Yaran so that we can continue to grow our partnership and foster greater opportunities for Australian First Nations communities,” Hawketts said.
The MoU is the latest part of KBR Australia’s Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).
For two years, the company has been following their RAP framework to collaborate with Indigenous communities across Australia and to help achieve the company’s dream of reconciliation.
