The arrangement is expected to support the delivery of the Defence fuel supply chain within Defences’ Joint Capability Group (JCG), in partnership with Defence’s Fuel Services Branch.
As part of the agreement, ICD Asia Pacific has been contracted to deliver fuel engineering, auditing, specialist POL and project management capabilities to enable the development and sustainment of Defence’s fuel infrastructure network.
“This fuel support services contract delivers an enhanced contract management approach with a focus on performance and deliverables. The contract has also been built to ensure strong collaboration between FSB and contractor and includes innovation opportunities for the Defence fuel supply chain,” Colonel Mark Baldock, acting director general, Fuel Services Branch, said.
Ventia currently provides essential assistance to Defence bases across the country that support some 100,000 Australian Defence Force personnel, including complex maintenance, estate management, engineering and support services.
This is achieved via contracts for Defence Base Services, Defence Maintenance & Support Services, National Clothing Store Services and Maritime Services.
“This contract further strengthens our strategic partnership with Defence and puts us in a good position to continue to support ADF in increasing fuel network resiliency and capability while navigating the coming energy transition,” Trevor Walker, general manager of engineering and technology, said.
ICD Asia Pacific has operated for over half a century, providing capabilities to the oil and gas industries, as well as ADF fuel projects.
Earlier this month, Ventia has confirmed that it has signed on as a foundation member of ICW Australia, enhancing the company’s collaboration framework with their defence partners, supply chain members, stakeholders and even competitors.
According to Ventia, collaboration is at the heart of the company’s solutions, which has recently been seen with the development of their vacuum systems to remove invasive marine systems as well as the establishment of a pre-employment program for Indigenous jobseekers in the Northern Territory.
Gavin Campbell, Ventia’s executive general manager – defence, announced that the membership to ICW Australia will provide better services to Defence.
“With over 70 years’ history of innovation for this client, we harness the ingenuity of industry partners, technology and data to continually do better than we’ve done before,” Campbell said.
“Signing on as foundation member with ICW will ensure we’re building an open, consistent customer service approach for our client, as this embeds a collaborative framework into all our business processes.”
