“Through our partnership with Landing Craft Australia, we intend to continue to expand our technologies, keeping Australia at the forefront of the advanced manufacturing industry,” Bossong said.
Bossong has collaborated with joint venture partner UGL for more than a decade across rail and complex manufacturing.
Terry Nichols, UGL’s general manager of defence, welcomed the opportunity to partner with local industry to enhance Australian industry capability.
“Providing opportunities to expand and deepen Australia’s industry involvement and by bringing innovative Australian companies into the sovereign Defence supply chain, creates local manufacturing jobs and expands skills. These are key objectives for LCA,” Nichols said.
According to LCA, Bossong’s seven-day per week operating cycle and robotics provide it with a unique capability to deliver quality production at scale.
Israel Lozano, managing director at Navantia Australia, explained that Bossong is well positioned to meet the industry’s ongoing needs.
“It is clear recognition of the impressive reputation that Bossong has earned over a long period as a reliable supplier to sophisticated industries such as oil and gas, mining, transport, subsea, and infrastructure,” Lozano said.
“This expertise translates well to meet the challenging and unique requirements of the Defence industry.”
The joint venture is bidding to deliver the littoral manoeuvre vessel – medium for the Australian Army as part of the LAND 8710 Phase 1.
