Both companies will now seek strategic growth in Defence projects with US primes, the Defence Industry Security Program, and Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) to access the US Department of Defense supply chain.
Aerobond has previously worked with clients such as Alliance, Qantas, BAE Systems, and Northrop Grumman for its production and maintenance capability, and specialist component services.
Secure State offers consulting and implementation services for Australian businesses that require CMMC, which allows them to work on projects handling controlled unclassified information.
Aerobond head of strategic partnerships Andy Oliver said CMMC is a program designed to ensure contractors protect highly sensitive information from frequent and increasingly complex cyber attacks.
“Partnering with Secure State to get CMMC ready is an absolute no-brainer for our business as we target strategic growth opportunities in the defence sector and throughout the US supply chain,” he said.
“The establishment of AUKUS and greater integration of the US and Australian industries will increasingly require Australian companies that seek to work on US Department of Defense initiatives to obtain CMMC — and so we see this as us getting a head start on that process and on our competition.
“There’s no doubt this will become a huge asset for us and sends a very clear message that we are not only serious about our cyber security obligations, but that we recognise CMMC as a key driver of our future business growth and success.”
Secure State head of strategy Kym Welsby said both companies welcome the partnership and expect it to be the first of many.
“We are honoured to be supporting Aerobond in this way — they’ve rightly recognised CMMC and cyber more generally as a significant business enabler and a feature they can discuss with their US prospects as they seek to tap into that lucrative market,” he said.
“We expect this partnership to be the first of many.”
