NASA astronaut Michael Gernhardt, a keynote speaker for the congress, will address the inaugural SimYouth session at midday to discuss the rapidly-developing field of simulation.

Noetic Group principal John Smith said, "At SimYouth, students have the opportunity to engage with cutting-edge simulation technologies, world-class innovators and industry experts.

"We really want to change the demographic of the simulation space, opening this area up to younger people."

Simulation within the defence space will be a hot topic with Smith, a former Australian Army officer with experience in defence simulation, and Noetic Group's creative design lead Chris Doherty leading students through an innovative design-thinking workshop to develop a simulation-based solution to a real-world inspired problem.
