Exail simulator selected for A320 training

A next-generation Exail simulator has been selected by French aviation training provider ICARE to provide training support to A320 pilots.

A next-generation Exail simulator has been selected by French aviation training provider ICARE to provide training support to A320 pilots.

The contract for the use of the EASA FTD2/FNPT II simulator was signed during the Paris Airshow in late June and is expected to enhance training solutions offered to ICARE’s clients.

The simulator is scheduled for delivery on 6 July, where it will then receive French Direction générale de l'Aviation civile certification.

ICARE provides coaching to cockpit and cabin crews, engineers, and ground personnel.

Dominique Giannoni, chief executive officer of Exail, explained that the solution would further enhance customer training and safety.

“We would like to thank ICARE for their trust in our advanced training simulation solutions,” Giannoni said.

“We are convinced that this state-of-the-art training simulator, designed according to the most stringent standards and regulations, will support ICARE’s growth throughout the years and bring increased operational safety and efficiency to their customers.”

The EASA FTD2/FNPT II simulator training will be used to cover a range of training purposes, ICARE chief executive officer Philippe Goetz outlined.

“This flight simulator is the turnkey solution we’ve been looking for in order to deliver our customers the high-quality training they deserve in terms of Type Rating, multi-crew coordination and recurrent training,” he explained.

“It will be a perfect complement to our future Level D Full-Flight Simulator which is due to be certified before year end.”

In March, Exail was contracted by Air France Industries KLM engineering and maintenance to provide a full flight simulator for the French Air Force’s E-3F Airborne Warning and Control System aircraft.

The simulator will help train crews through the delivery of an identical replica of the newly redesigned cockpit and is scheduled for certification in 2025.
