The new platform, a digital collection of services for military personnel, is expected to result in improved efficiency related to the decrease in paperwork with features such as the ability to submit electronic reports.
“One of the most common complaints I hear from the military is excessive paperwork that slows down the efficiency and quality of service,” said Rustem Umerov, Minister of Defence of Ukraine, during the official presentation.
“Army+ and the digitalisation of the Armed Forces will change this component by transferring all processes to a convenient electronic format.
“I express my gratitude to our team for conceiving the concept, developing and launching this super app tailored for military use.”
The Army+ application offers 11 report types, grouped into four categories: leave, assistance, referral, and referral issuance.
Submitting the reports is understood to take a couple of minutes and there are hints to guide users through the process. Sending reports for signature requires the service member’s distinctive Army ID number.
“Innovations are the defining factors in contemporary warfare, determining the winners of wars. The innovations of the Army+ application aim to improve the efficiency of military personnel, creating more comfortable conditions for solving service issues and performing combat missions as assigned. Army+ simplifies service and reduces wasted time,” said Colonel General Oleksandr Syrskyi, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The app’s polling feature allows the state to gather insights from the military, allowing them to implement meaningful reforms in the Ukrainian defence forces.
“Army+ is not only a big step towards digitising the Armed Forces. It is also a demonstration of a humane attitude towards our defenders. The people who risk their lives for our freedom should not have to fill out handwritten paper with a ruler, stand in line, or travel long distances to sign a report. We will continue implementing more services for the comfort of our military,” said Kateryna Chernohorenko, Deputy Minister of Defence for Digital Development.
