Leidos has been awarded a US$107 million (AU$169.5 million) contract from the US National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency’s Office of Geography and Source Strategies Office to provide geospatial intelligence products.
The contract establishes a one-year base period of performance, followed by the possibility of four one-year optional extensions and a final six-month optional extension, bringing the total potential duration to five and a half years. If all options are exercised, the contract’s total value will amount to US$107 million (AU$169.5 million).
Under this agreement, Leidos will play a key role in enhancing the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency’s (NGA) operations by providing a comprehensive suite of human geographic, topographic and open-source data products.
Roy Stevens, Leidos National Security Sector president said, “NGA’s analysts require timely and accurate foundational data to facilitate effective analysis in support of current mission requirements.”
These products will be instrumental in supporting the day-to-day activities of NGA’s specialised personnel, including cartographers, human geographers, toponymists, cataloguers and collectors. By equipping these professionals with high-quality data resources, the contract aims to improve the accuracy, efficiency and overall effectiveness of NGA’s geospatial intelligence workflows.
Furthermore, the Leidos team will deliver critical geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) products to enhance the functionality of the NGA’s Geographic Names Server (GNS). The GNS serves as a vital tool for managing and standardising geographic names, and the products provided under this contract will contribute to the agency’s broader mission of delivering reliable and actionable intelligence for national security and operational planning.
“Our geographic and topographic data products help enable analysts to support warfighters and national security objectives with precision,” Stevens said
With this partnership, Leidos will help ensure that NGA’s geospatial intelligence capabilities remain at the forefront of innovation and excellence.
NGA provides world-class GEOINT that offers a critical edge to US policymakers, military personnel, intelligence professionals and first responders.
As a unique entity, NGA operates as both a Department of Defense combat support agency and a key member of the US Intelligence Community. By delivering accurate, firsthand geospatial intelligence, NGA equips warfighters, the intelligence community, and first responders with a global intelligence foundation tailored to meet their analytical and operational demands.
