Leidos Australia has welcomed its largest graduate intake, employing 30 graduates in 2018, a significant increase on previous years.
The graduates will be involved in a range of leading edge and challenging projects, as well as undergoing training and development in basic work skills to help succeed in their early careers.
Graduate Andrew McKenzie said the opportunity to work on varied projects in defence and security made the Leidos graduate position appealing.
"I chose Leidos because I felt it offered me the best opportunity to work on exciting projects relevant to my chosen field of study," McKenzie said.
"I see this as an opportunity to place myself and my career on the cutting edge of new systems and processes."
Leidos Australia chief executive Christine Zeitz said the defence and security company hopes the new Defence Export Strategy will generate more opportunities for Australian graduates in the industry.
"Our investment in the graduate program is testimony to our overall confidence in the defence and security sector," said Zeitz.
"We are particularly encouraged by the government's new Defence Export Strategy. I welcome our 2018 graduates and look forward to seeing the vibrancy and new perspectives that they will bring to our organisation."
Leidos Australia is delivering a range of key programs across Defence, including JP2030 Phase 8 JCSE Sustainment, SEA 1770 Phase 1 and CIOG projects.
