With Gate 2 for Defence’s JP 2060 Phase 3 Deployable Health Capability expected by the end of this year, one bidder for the project has turned its sights to engaging Australian industry for its Phase 4 offering.

Leidos Australia has confirmed it is planning to submit a response to the recently released Commonwealth request for information (RFI) and the subsequently anticipated quarter 4, 2018 request for tender (RFT) for the JP2060 Phase 4 Health Knowledge Management (HKM) Project.
Phase 4 is one part of the multi-phase joint project (JP) being led by the Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG) within the Australian Department of Defence, which involves the identification and development of capabilities required to prevent, treat, manage and evacuate casualties in joint operations in the defence of Australia and its interests.
The JP2060 Phase 4 HKM Project will acquire and sustain a commercial, information technology (IT), enterprise knowledge solution that captures health data and collates and manages the information across the Australian Defence Force health care continuum within the deployed and non-deployed, garrison environment.
Defence said the solution will be required to provide greater healthcare business functionality, utilise an efficient health informatics process and enable efficient and safe, evidenced based, patient-centric care. The HKM solution will be required to interface with Defence ICT platforms, allied coalition partners, Australian healthcare providers and nominated government agencies.
The HKM solution will be a predominately commercial off-the-shelf solution that meets Australian Clinical Practice Guidelines. The primary capabilities that Leidos Australia are seeking support from Australian industry on in relation to the JP2060 Phase 4 HKM Project include: dental software and applications, pharmaceutical software and applications, health analytics, decision support, hazard and threat modelling, and veterinarian software and applications.
In a letter to the Australian Industry & Defence Network, Leidos Australia said it "would like to maximise the opportunities available for competitive Australian industry to be considered for participation in Leidos Australia’s response for this project".
The letter from Leidos also encouraged SMEs and Indigenous businesses interested in being part of its bid to register their interest on the Leidos website.
