Ocean Software has announced the appointment of Rodney Bloom as CEO to drive the company’s growth strategy and strengthen its leadership group.

Bloom is an internationally experienced leader with extensive experience in the technology, digital, training and professional services sectors. He has held executive leadership positions at Deloitte and CSIRO and has worked closely with defence and government globally. He has most recently led the model design for the Australian Defence Force’s $740 million Next Generation Technologies Fund.

Ian Freer, chairman of Ocean Software, said, “Ocean Software aims to grow the company in each of the regions it operates: bringing in Rodney to lead the stage of growth will enable us to build on the impressive footprint that Ocean Software has established.

“Over the last few years, Ocean Software has doubled its staff and international customers. There is an emerging recognition by defence forces around the globe of the value they can achieve through improved efficiencies generated by the right management systems.”

Bloom said, “Ocean Software has built a strong reputation for its ability to deliver its superior solutions for defence organisations. With such a stable foundation in place, I’m looking forward to continuing that trend and achieving ambitious growth targets both at home and overseas.”
