Indo Defence is Indonesia’s number one tri-service event. Hosted by the Indonesian Ministry of Defence, the expo offers the opportunity to learn, network and do business and will take place in Jakarta from 6-10 November 2018.
The event will showcase leading-edge capabilities in sophisticated weapons systems and technologies, hardware and electronic warfare, training, simulation systems, defence and security peripherals. Held every two years, the exhibition brings together around 850 exhibitors from over 40 countries, offering capabilities and innovation for the defence and security sector.
Exhibiting on the TDA stand is free of charge, however successful companies will be responsible for flights, accommodation, freight and other related costs.
The TDA Pavilion will occupy 161.5 square metres with an open plan design to accommodate an expected large delegation of Australian companies.
Indo Defence covers the complete defence spectrum, including airborne, land-based and sea-based platforms, systems and equipment. The event brings together key decision makers from the various defence authorities and companies in the Asia-Pacific region and around the world.
A record 22,459 trade buyers and 189 international delegates have already registered for the event. Indo Defence offers the opportunity to take full advantage of the business potential arising from the increased defence budgets in Indonesia and the region.
Indonesia is Australia's second largest market for defence exports. The growing need for the Indonesian armed forces to update their equipment and systems presents a significant opportunity for Australian defence industry companies.
The Defence Export Strategy has identified the Indo-Pacific region as one of the priority markets for Australian defence exports.
TDA will be joined by key stakeholders and partners, including:
- Centre for Defence Industry Capability;
- Australian Defence Export Office;
- All state/territory governments;
- Global Supply Chain primes;
- Australian Defence staff;
- Australian Trade and Investment Commission; and
- Australian embassy, Jakarta.
Those selected to attend Indo Defence as part of Team Defence Australia may be able to seek reimbursement under the Export Market Development Grants (EMDG) for costs incurred.
Visit www.austrade.gov.au/exportgrants to see if you are eligible for EMDG assistance, and to understand other categories of international promotion expenditure that may also be relevant to your business.
More information, including the expression of interest forms, are available here. Applications must be submitted by midnight on Monday, 20 August 2018. Late submissions will only be considered under exceptional circumstances.
