Boeing Defence Australia has appointed Claire Kluge to lead the company’s defence presence in Australia’s largest regional economy.

In this position, Kluge will oversee Boeing Defence Australia’s operations in the Hunter region associated with community engagement, local industry collaboration, education partnerships and employee planning.
She will continue as Boeing’s program manager for the F/A-18 Classic Hornet program.
Kluge started out as an electronics engineer in the RAAF before joining Boeing in 2002.
“The Hunter is an important region for Boeing’s defence business and will continue to play a key role in Australia’s future aerospace and defence industries,” Kluge said.
“For Boeing, it’s home to a large workforce supporting the RAAF’s fleet of E-7A Wedgetails, and F/A-18 Classic Hornets along with the Vigilare battlespace management system.
“There is significant opportunity here for Boeing to strengthen our presence and I look forward to exploring more partnership opportunities to support the growth of the aerospace sector in the Hunter.”
Boeing has implemented a number of initiatives to support the future of aerospace in the Hunter including partnerships with the Cessnock Academy for STEM Excellence, Regional Development Australia Hunter, and the University of Newcastle.
