The Northern Territory chapter of the Australian Industry & Defence Network (AIDN-NT) has announced Sophee Clark of Norship Marine as the Young Achiever of the Year.

The annual Young Achiever Award was created in 2008 by AIDN National to recognise the important contribution made by young people in Australia’s defence industry. The award is held at the AIDN Chapter level (state and territory) with chapter winners competing for the national award.
The winner of AIDN-NT YAA will travel to Canberra to participate as a finalist at the AIDN National Gala Dinner in Canberra on Wednesday, 13 February 2019.
The AIDN-NT finalists were:
- Ryan Prescott – Cardno (NT);
- Sophee Clark – Norship Marine; and
- Ben Miley – Shamrock Chemicals.
Kerryn Smith, AIDN CEO, emphasised the importance of acknowledging and encouraging all talented young Australians involved in the defence industry, saying, "These fine young Australians are the key to our future, and initiatives such as the AIDN Young Achiever Award continue to recognise this emerging talent."
The Minister for Defence Industry, Steven Ciobo, provided the opening address and Sir Angus Houston delivered the keynote presentation on 'International Collaboration to the North' at the Darwin Convention Centre.
AIDN-NT is an industry sssociation which aims to build a strong, growing and sustainable NT defence support industry with capability aligned to Defence.
