Over 80 graduates have started working at BAE Systems Australia’s national defence and security business this week, more than double employed by the company last year.

BAE Systems also confirmed they’ll be further expanding their graduate program, with 120 positions to be available in 2020 with “major projects such as the Hunter Class Frigate Program continue to ramp up”.
“Our graduate program is critical in developing potential future leaders within our business and elsewhere in the defence industry,” BAE Systems Australia chief executive Gabby Costigan said.
“We work with graduates to continuously tailor the program so that it meets their career development and ensures that we have some of the brightest minds developing solutions for our defence force.”
The 83 2019 graduates will have four placements across Australia over the next two years that will “see them working on critically important defence projects and within various support functions across Australia”.
The placements will be in either Canberra, Sydney and Williamtown, Portsmith, Adelaide, Melbourne and Henderson.
The roles will specialise in:
- Engineering
- Project Management
- Finance
- Commercial and Procurement
- Human Resources
- IM&T
Over 2,500 students applied for the 83 available roles. BAE Systems is recruiting graduates for 2020 now and seeking applications from across Australia, more information can be found here.
