Following a 26 year career in politics, Defence Minister Christopher Pyne, is expected to announce his formal resignation from political life at the next election, but is expected to maintain his ministerial role until the election.
In his time in Parliament, Christopher was also Minister for Defence Industry, responsible for delivering the $200 billion build-up of Australia’s military capability, the largest in Australia's peacetime history.
Pyne has also served as Minister for Industry, Innovation and Science, developing and delivering the National Innovation and Science Agenda, a transformative economic plan to encourage Australians to embrace risk and commercialise their ideas.
