ASC chairman Bruce Carter said Rohrsheim's appointment was a "welcome one" following his "two decades of achievement in the IT sector, and significant experience as a company director".
“As Australia’s sovereign submarine and shipbuilding company, ASC places great importance on attracting the best people, and that approach equally applies to our board,” said Carter.
“Mr Rohrsheim joins the board of ASC at an exciting time, with future expansion in the submarine and shipbuilding sectors planned and the company pursuing a significant digital transformation across ASC’s operations in South Australia and Western Australia.
“We are exceptionally pleased to welcome a director of the calibre of Mr Rohrsheim.”
Rohrsheim successfully established several businesses in the IT sector following the completion of his engineering studies, and service in the Royal Australian Air Force.
In 2017, Rohrsheim was awarded the Pearcey Foundation's SA Entrepreneur Award for leadership in business and innovation at a state and national level.
He also serves as a non-executive director on a number of boards and is a member of the Australia Post Stakeholder Council and the South Australian Premier’s Economic Advisory Council.
