Expressions of interest (EOI) are now open for Australian export-ready companies interested in showcasing their products and services with Team Defence Australia (TDA) at MSPO in Kielce, Poland from 3-6 September 2019. Attendees are required to be in country from 2–6 September.
MSPO is the most important defence show in Poland, with the event mainly focused on the land and air domains. MSPO 2017 saw 625 exhibitors and 34,000 attendees from over 30 countries.
TDA is the branding used overseas to symbolise the partnership between the Australian Department of Defence and Australian defence industry. It is a globally recognised and respected brand that signifies the Australian government’s support of Australia's defence industry exporters.
The TDA banner is proudly displayed at major international defence exhibitions, and is at the forefront of Australian defence trade missions to engage global customers.
TDA will provide support to the delegation of defence industry companies attending MSPO, including:
- Pre-event support and advice;
- Senior military level support and advocacy at the trade show;
- A space on the custom built Team Defence Australia pavilion;
- Access to facilities and meeting rooms at the event;
- Participation in the full TDA program, including briefings, networking and B2B activities;
- Exhibitor passes; and
- Provision of on-site support from TDA representatives at the show.
TDA will provide the support above free of charge – you will need to cover your other costs such as travel, travel insurance, accommodation, freight and additional stand requirements. You may wish to approach your state or territory government to enquire if any support is available for this event.
Poland is progressing through a long-term military capabilities modernisation programme. This is enshrined in the Technical Modernisation Plan (TMP), which is an element of the over-arching Armed Forces Development Plan (2017 to 2026).
The TMP was running from 2013 to 2022 with US$40 billion earmarked for this period. It was subject to a mid-term review in 2016 (with investment of US$14.5 billion for the years 2017–2022) and a renewed programme (2019 to 2026) was signed by the Ministry of National Defence in February 2019. The 2019 to 2026 programme was valued at US$50 billion.
The latest edition of the TMP is comprehensive and covers land, sea and air platforms. The government priority is the acquisition of fifth generation combat aircraft under the Harpia programme; short-range air defence capabilities through the Narew programme; the Kruk attack helicopter programme; the Orka submarine programme; and cybersecurity measures.
