The biennial exercise is designed to train units of His Majesty’s Armed Forces of Tonga and, historically, to enhance engagement and interoperability between the New Zealand Defence Force, French Army New Caledonia, Nevada National Guard and United States Marine Corps.
2019 marked the first time the Australia Army would take part in the Exercise, with an Aussie contingent consisting of 15 personnel from 2nd/14th Light Horse Regiment (Queensland Mounted Infantry) and the 1st/15th Royal New South Wales Lancers.
