Royal Australian Air Force No.65 Squadron has conducted Air Base recovery and explosive hazards training alongside US Air Force personnel as part of Exercise Mini Burrow 2019.

The exercise was conducted from 5-16 August at Defence Establishment Orchard Hills, NSW, and focused on exercising a range of airfield engineering and explosive ordnance disposal capabilities.

The training also covered search and disposal of buried unexploded ordnance, as well as rapid explosive hazard mitigation techniques.

No.65 Squadron is a non-flying unit of the RAAF, and comprises the Air Force's airfield engineering and explosive ordnance disposal capabilities.

Established in 2015 at RAAF Base Amberley, the squadron was made by combining the Airfield Engineering Flight of No.383 Squadron and No.1 Security Forces Squadron's Explosive Ordnance Disposal flight.
