Space Connect has unveiled the Australian Space Awards, an initiative that will showcase the nation’s best and brightest space businesses and professionals.

Supported by principal partner KBR, the awards program – to be held in December 2019 – will recognise the leading individuals and businesses driving the development of Australia’s space economy.
This includes the telecommunications, satellite, energy, mining and transport sector as well as the defence, agriculture, disaster and water management industries.
According to William Magee, Momentum Media’s head of strategy – defence and space, the awards program will universally acknowledge all space industry stakeholders from the major listed organisations and corporates servicing Australia’s space economy to SMEs, start-ups, academic institutions and associations.
“It’s a great privilege to announce the launch of the Australian Space Awards. Australia has an exciting future in space, with a raft of talented businesses and individuals all invested in advancing our domestic market as well as projecting Australian industry on the global stage.
“With our domestic space industry expected to triple by 2030 to a value of between $10-12 billion, and explore opportunities abound, recognition of our top performing organisations and professionals will help support business growth plus help attract the best talent to the industry,” he said.
The categories and full award details will be released shortly on the Australian Space Awards website, however participants are encouraged to register their details to ensure they receive any new updates.
The Australian Space Awards is produced by one of Australia’s top events businesses, Momentum Media, and is part of a suite of major national awards programs including the Australian Defence Industry Awards, Australian Law Awards, Australian Accounting Awards and the Australian Broking Awards.
