The event hosts over 16,500 attendees, with over 500 exhibitors from more than 60 countries.
The I/ITSEC 2019 exhibition provides a chance for Australian companies and industry leaders to develop international business opportunities.
"This delegation will see ten Australian companies with an invaluable opportunity to showcase their products and services to the US military and major companies, led by Air Vice Marshal William Henman," said director, export operations, Australian Defence Export Office, Dr Dylan Nagle.
The mission is co-ordinated by TDA alongside the Centre for Defence Industry Capability (CDIC), the Australian embassy in Washington, DC, Austrade, state and territory governments and the global supply chain primes, which ensures a whole-of-government approach to supporting Australian defence industry exports.
The Australian Defence Simulation and Training Centre (ADSTC) will also be represented at I/ITSEC, with Commodore Allison Norris, Director General of ADSTC, featuring in the show’s Special Event series.
CDRE Norris will join other senior leaders for an insightful panel discussion on improving joint and multinational simulation interoperability.
TDA delegates will also be supported by the ADSTC members' presence on the Australian stand throughout the exhibition.
In addition to the show floor filled with 500+ exhibitors, TDA said the attendees have access to:
- Informative and relevant innovation showcase presentations;
- Panel discussions, seminars and tutorials on key topics in modelling and simulation, training, and education;
- A variety of valuable networking events including ticketed dinners and receptions; and
- A hands-on opportunity to specify and see the latest technology in action.
"We’ll have some fantastic exhibits and live demonstrations, including Motum Simulation’s VR motion simulator and Chiron Global Technologies’ X-Series close quarter combat armour platform," Dr Nagle said.
"I/ITSEC provides an opportunity for Australian companies to spruik their ability to support the supply chain, which in the age of global, allied supply chains is an increasingly important means of value adding for Australia's defence industry."
Exhibiting with TDA is free, with successful companies responsible for their individual expenses.
To support this, individual state and territory governments, along with the Export Development Grant Program (EMDG), will be providing grant assistance for eligible participants.
