Defence Innovation 2020 conference provides Australia’s defence industry and innovation sector with the opportunity to learn how they can leverage Defence’s innovation programs, as well as explore emerging technology trends and opportunities within Defence’s new capability domains.
From 23-27 November 2020, delegates will hear from senior Defence leaders and engage directly with capability managers and experts during six 90-minute webinars.
Minister for Defence Industry Melissa Price said it was exciting to see such an interesting program with an impressive line-up of expert presenters engaging with Australian businesses and research institutions.
“I am pleased to be delivering the opening address to Defence Innovation 2020. Events of this type strengthen the partnership between Defence and industry and make it easier for industry to respond to the future challenges we share,” Minister Price explained.
The conference will include the following webinars:
- Webinar 1: Innovating with Defence (23 November);
- Webinar 2: Partnering to shape the future of Defence warfare (24 November);
- Webinar 3: Maritime, Land and Air domains (25 November);
- Webinar 4: A state-based perspective (26 November);
- Webinar 5: Information, Space and Cyber (27 November); and
- Webinar 6: Virtual networking event (27 November).
“I look forward to seeing Defence and innovative Australian businesses explore how they can work together to strengthen Australia’s military capability edge,” Minister Price added.
Defence Innovation 2020 will comprise six 90-minute webinars over five days, with Minister Price will provide an opening address on 23 November.
Feature presenters include senior Defence and military representatives from each of the operational domains: Maritime, Land, Air, Information and Cyber and Space, as well as from Defence Science and Technology Group, and state and territory industry advocates.
Each webinar will conclude with a Q&A session where participants can engage with Defence experts to ask questions and explore how industry can support Defence to deliver innovative solutions that provide Defence with cutting-edge capabilities.
The conference will conclude with a virtual networking event providing delegates with the opportunity to engage with Defence capability managers and other attendees in a relaxed informal environment. Please note, registrations for this event is limited to 150 delegates.
