Soldier On has announced it will host a virtual commemorative service to honour men and women of the Australian Defence Force.
The group’s 2021 Commemorative Service, which is supported by Lieutenant General (Ret’d) Peter Leahy, AC; Chief of the Defence Force General Angus Campbell, AO, DSC; and Governor-General David Hurley, AC, DSC, is set to include readings and messages from Soldier On ambassadors along with material sourced from the Australian War Memorial.
The virtual service is scheduled for 6am on 25 April via the Soldier On website.
The announcement coincides with the launch of Soldier On’s ‘In Their Honour Appeal’, aimed at raising funds to support serving and ex-serving members and their families.
"More than 100 years on, our brave service men and women continue to carry the spirit of the Anzacs,” Soldier On CEO Ivan Slavich said.
“Australia’s contemporary veterans and their families face significant struggles throughout and following their service. Soldier On works to support our veteran community through the provision of health and wellbeing, employment, education and social connection support services.
“This Anzac Day we are asking our community to stand with our contemporary veterans, make a donation In Their Honour and support them in securing their futures.”
