A Queensland-based aerospace company has welcomed a retired Air Vice-Marshal to its board of directors to help lead the development of the aerospace industry in Australia.

TAE has appointed AVM (Ret'd) Mark Skidmore AM as a non-executive director to assist with piloting the further growth and development of the Australian-owned aerospace company.
Prior to this, Skidmore was assisting the company with Defence and government liaison activities.
TAE's chief executive and managing director Andrew Sanderson said he looked forward to working with the experienced industry leader to help shape the future of the company in Australia and globally.
"Mark brings with him a wealth of leadership, operational and industry expertise across both the defence and civil sectors," Sanderson said.
"His experience as a former RAAF Air Commander and CASA director of safety, combined with his extensive flying career, provides us with a refreshing perspective that will really assist us to capture and deliver on the many opportunities available to us today.
"With our aerospace activities stretching from wheel maintenance for the Qantas A380s, to supporting the RAAF’s F/A-18 Super Hornet engines, to keeping the country’s aerial agricultural aircraft fleets flying, there is a real range and depth to what we do. Being the only RAAF pilot to have flown both the slowest and fastest aircraft in the Air Force, Mark is no stranger to variety and his depth and breadth of experience will prove valuable across everything we deliver.”
Upon his appointment, the former RAAF Air Commander said he was looking forward to embracing his new role at the 100 per cent Australian-owned and globally operated company.
“I am honoured to have been invited to join the TAE board," Skidmore said.
"TAE has an excellent reputation and I am looking forward to providing my knowledge and experience to help support the growth and development of this great company now and into the future.”
