Vice president, sales and key account management, Mark Hilton, welcomed the opportunity to tap into Jordan’s key expertise to grow Thales’ footprint in the region.

"Paul has significant experience in transformational programs at the highest levels within both government and Defence, and will build closer links between our strategic priorities and how these are developed to continue to deliver value to Thales’ customers in New Zealand,” Hilton said.

"Thales has operated in New Zealand for many years, and Paul’s appointment will significantly boost our presence in country at a time when Thales is working closely with the New Zealand government and Defence to support key national security and transformation programs.”

This week, Thales Australia entered into a partnership with Engineers Australia to accredit the company’s Australian workforce in line with new Victorian and NSW government guidelines.

“The partnership with Engineers Australia would support compliance with state based legislation that requires professional engineers to be registered,” Dr John Best, chief technical officer of Thales Australia, said.

“This partnership is about more than achieving compliance – it is about actively participating in the Australian engineering community to maintain and advance engineering practice.

“As technology development cycles become shorter, it is critical that organisations, like Thales, that deliver mission critical solutions to both defence and civil customers, continuously strive to maintain state-of-the-art knowledge. The continuous professional development obligations that come with recognition through Engineers Australia drive our individual staff, and us as a company, to continuously improve.”
