DroneShield secures DISP certification

The ASX-listed company has been granted access to classified resources following an extensive evaluation process.

DroneShield has confirmed its receipt of Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) certification by the Australian Defence Industry Security Office (DISO).

The certification grants the company permission to work on classified information and assets managed by the Australian Defence Force and Australian intelligence and law enforcement agencies.

Oleg Vornik, DroneShield’s CEO, said the DISP certification, which followed an extensive evaluation process, marks a significant step in the firm’s evolution.

“While we already have individuals within the business with high-level security clearances, the DISP certification recognises that DroneShield, as a whole, has the required information and communications technology (ICT) and security infrastructure in place to deal with classified tenders and information,” Vornik said.

“This will enable a wide variety of future opportunities, where previously we were simply ineligible to bid.

“DroneShield has already identified some of such opportunities and is actively engaged in pursuing them.”

The announcement comes just a week after the company upgraded its counter UAV offering, installing a new sonar detection system.

DroneShield’s multi-domain DroneSentry counter-drone threat awareness and response product has been reinforced with SonarOne — a sonar detection system designed to deliver directional real-time reporting of underwater threats.

The new detection system has been built to detect and track hostile unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs) and diver intruders in protected waters.

According to the company, the platform is suited for deployment around naval vessels, harbours, and critical infrastructure.
