Defence industry leader Lockheed Martin Australia has been announced as the platinum sponsor of Australia’s biggest interactive science expo, Science Alive!

The science expo, which brings together science and technology figures, all three major SA universities, TAFE SA and SA Museum, will run for three full days in August, will span 17,000 square metres of the Adelaide Showground and is expected to attract an audience of 26,000.
Lockheed Martin Australia has been supporting this event for more than four years, and this will be the second year the defence and innovation company has partnered as the platinum sponsor.
"We are delighted to be supporting Science Alive! for the fourth year running," said Lockheed Martin Australia chief executive Vince Di Pietro.
"We’re proud to roll up our sleeves and contribute in such an active way to our nation’s goal to develop an enduring, highly skilled workforce, and this is just one of the STEM [science, technology engineering and mathematics] initiatives we are investing in to help generate enthusiasm and create opportunities for thousands of young Australians to engineer and enjoy the future.

Lockheed Martin Australia will be front and centre at the exhibition with a strong focus on defence and space activities. Visitors to the Lockheed Martin Australia stand will be able to fly an F-35 jet, learn about how submarines work, walk on Mars and speak to engineers about what a STEM-related career at Lockheed Martin can offer in the future.
Headquartered in Canberra, Lockheed Martin Australia is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Lockheed Martin Corporation. The company employs more than 800 people in Australia working on a wide range of major programs spanning the aerospace, defence and civil sectors.
