Innovaero wins international aviation certification

The aeronautical technology company has secured landmark certification to expand its service offering across the aviation, space and defence industries.

The aeronautical technology company has secured landmark certification to expand its service offering across the aviation, space and defence industries.

Western Australia-based Innovaero has announced its receipt of AS9100 International Quality Management Systems standard certification for aviation, space and defence (ASD) organisations.

The certification, awarded by the International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG), covers design, certification, manufacture, maintenance and overhaul of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems, products, and components for the aviation industry.

This is in addition to Innovaero’s portfolio of Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) design, manufacturing, and overhaul approvals, including CASR Part 21J Design Organisation Approval.

The certification enables Innovaero to work alongside major ASD primes, meeting requirements listed by the likes of Boeing, Airbus and Raytheon.

Innovaero’s receipt of AS9100 followed a collaboration with majority Aboriginal-owned and operated joint venture, TQCSI-Yaran, which provides auditing and certification services across the ASD industries.

“Achieving AS9100 certification is a further demonstration of Innovaero’s commitment to delivering the highest quality products and services for the ASD industry,” Innovaero group CEO Simon Grosser said.

“This milestone achievement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team.

“This transition to a fully AS9100 certified design, development and manufacturing organisation, cements Innovaero as a top contender in the ASD industry and underpins Innovaero’s commitment to delivering sovereign capability for the Australian Defence Force, as well as the wider ASD industry, from our modern manufacturing facility at Kardinya.”

This is Innovaero's latest push to bolster its market footprint, after the firm announced plans to expand into the reach of its UAS offering.

In June, Insitu Pacific and Innovaero signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA), aimed at strengthening collaboration for the development of enhanced uncrewed aerial systems (UAS) capability.

Insitu Pacific is expected to provide its common architecture software and ground control solutions to accelerate the delivery of Innovaero’s vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) InnovaeroFOX UAS.

As part of the MOA, the firms will also explore opportunities to onboard Innovaero to support Insitu Pacific’s global supply chain.
